Each country has their own favorite sport. Last Sunday, the USA was extremely excited for a big game: the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is an annual American football game that determines the champion team of the National Football League. In the end, the New York Giants won the Super bowl. It was a really big deal for football fans and also an important game for many companies. To them, it is a very important chance to advertise their own products or brands and their sky high advertisement rates always become a worldwide sensation. It was a big festival to everyone and it is a representative sport in the USA. In addition, at half time, the world-famous pop star, Madonna had a fabulous performance, which also proves the Super Bowl’s popularity. According various sources, more than 100 million Americans watched this game and the viewership also reached more than 70%.

Then, how about Canada? What is Canada’s favorite sport? You know that, in case of Canada, people are obsessed with ice hockey similar to American’s enthusiasm for the Super Bowl. It is quite unfamiliar to other countries, especially Asian countries. Each city in Canada cheers for different teams and in the case of Vancouver, they cheer for the Canucks. When they have a match, the area near Rogers Arena downtown is filled with Canucks blue jerseys, from babies to adults and from men to women. All generations enjoy this match, even when they just stay at home, they enjoy the game on TV. To watch a Canucks match is quite expensive. Almost every game is sold out, and their play-off games are especially famous and enthusiastic fans are everywhere.

And for these reasons, Canada is hockey and Vancouver is Canucks. These equations can be completed. As the proverb says: “When in Rome do as the Romans do.” So, if you decide to live in Vancouver, how about enjoying the hockey games and going to the Rogers Arena? Let’s cheer for the Canucks by wearing blue uniforms! Go Canucks Go!
