Stan Fields: Miss Rhode Island, please describe your idea of a perfect date.
Cheryl “Rhode Island”: That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.
As Cheryl from the movie “Miss Congeniality” puts it, April is the perfect time of year, especially in Vancouver. The cherry blossoms have started to bloom, the days are getting longer and the temperature is certainly getting warmer (fingers crossed for sunny days!)
The ELI has a ton of activities planned for this month. Over the Easter long weekend, compete in Adventure Club’s Scavenger Hunt or learn about how liquor is made at the Distillery Tour with Food & Drink Club. Enjoy the great outdoors? Join Sea2Sky Club as they explore Lynn Canyon on Monday! Remember to pick up the April activity calendar to see what other activities we have planned.
If you are into sci-fi, anime, or superheroes, the Fan Expo Vancouver at the Vancouver Convention Center is perfect for you. Dress up as your favourite character, or come in civilian wear to meet stars from The Walking Dead, Star Trek, and many more.
We can’t talk about Easter if we don’t mention the Great A-Mazing Egg Hunt at the VanDusen Botanical Gardens. Hunt for Easter eggs, plant carrots to take home and event get a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.
But what if you have already tried all of the above? Why not go to the 10 year Anniversary of the Vancouver Pillow Fight. Bring a pillow and go nuts at 3 PM outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. This is going to be a pillow fight like you’ve never experienced before.
There is something for everyone this month at the ELI and around Vancouver so make the most of your time here!
